The annual Club Games 2019 event organised by the Council’s leisure provider GLL Better celebrates sport and competition not just for leisure centre members but individuals across the District.
Organisers want to hear from people aged over 55 interested in the following sports:
· Badminton – mixed pairs
· Table Tennis – mixed pair
· Short Tennis – mixed pairs
· Pickleball – mixed pairs
· Walking Football
· Walking Netball
Martin Holland, Leisure Services Manager at West Oxfordshire District Council, said: “This is a fantastic event for people of all abilities who are either regularly taking part in sport or just want to get involved. It’s great fun for everyone.”
Phil Stanley, West Oxfordshire Community Sports Officer at GLL Better, added: “The Club Games are not only a great occasion, they bring individuals together to work as teams. It’s an excellent way of getting fit and making new friends at the same time.”
The event will take place at the Rivermead Leisure Complex in Reading on Friday 17 May. Taking part costs just £4 per person.
Participants will compete against other teams from GLL areas outside London.
