UK national threat level raised to ‘severe’
As you may already have seen, the UK national threat level was raised from ‘substantial’ to ‘severe’ on Monday. The UK was previously at the ‘severe’ level for several years so this change should not cause undue alarm. However, it does mean the risk of a terrorist attack has increased and it serves as a reminder to be aware of the risks.
If you are planning any events in the coming weeks, please review your risk assessments considering this change. Further guidance is published on the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure website.
You may also be interested in completing the ‘action counters terrorism’ course which is publicly available on the gov.uk website. If you have any concerns about possible terrorist activity, you should contact the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321.
