Oxfordshire’s health and care services - The Big Consultation - Phase 1

NHS Oxfordshire is carrying out a "Big Consultation" on proposals to change the way that certain types of health service are delivered in the county. Some of the proposed changes specifically impact on services provided by the Horton General Hospital in Banbury, but other changes affect services across the county. These changes include:

The permanent closure of some hospital beds in Oxford and Banbury as the care of older people is shifted away from hospitals and towards care closer to their home;
Centralising care for patients suffering from strokes in the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford;
Extending the Early Supported Discharge Service for patients suffering from strokes.
