Buckland 1 Parapet Replacement – March 2019 Oxfordshire County Council will be replacing the damaged parapets on Buckland 1 bridge starting 25th March 2019. The bridge carries Buckland Road over the Wadley Stream. The existing parapets require replacement following damage sustained during a road traffic accident. Works are anticipated to take 5 days. Unfortunately, the carriageway is too narrow at this location to retain through access for vehicles during the works. Therefore, a road closure will be in place on a short section of Buckland Road between Buckland and The Trout Public House during working hours, between 09:30 and 15:30. No vehicles will be permitted to pass through this closure between these hours. A signed vehicle diversion route will be in place for the duration of the works. The road will be fully reopened outside of these times. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained through the works. Advanced signage will be in place at major junctions either side of the works to discourage through traffic but allow access to business and residential properties. Advanced warning signs will be placed at the closure extents approximately 1 week prior to the works to warn motorists. To take advantage of reduced through traffic, we will also be completing resurfacing works immediately north of Tadpole Bridge. Traffic Management will be in place at these works to allow access to The Trout Inn and residential properties immediately south of Tadpole bridge. Oxfordshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause. If you require any further information about the works please do not hesitate to contact the project engineer, Ben Dodds, by phone: 07823 354825, by email: [email protected], or call Highway Inquiries on 0845 310 11 11. Yours faithfully, p.p. (Ben Dodds) Charlie Benner County Bridge Engineer
