West Oxfordshire District Council budget consultation open until 15 December

You may have seen that WODC has launched its budget consultation which gives residents the opportunity to express their views to help shape our budget for the 2025/26 financial year.

To complete the survey residents simply need to visit www.westoxon.gov.uk/budget  
Physical copies of the consultation are also available in the WODC Woodgreen office and the Town Centre Shop in Witney for anyone who is not able to complete the online survey.  They are also posting on our social media channels so please feel free to share if you wish. Thank you in advance for your help.

OCC - Pulmans Bus Update - 1st September

Changes are being made to Pulhams services in West Oxfordshire with effect from Sunday 1st September 2024.

Pulhams service 15/15A will be replaced by Oxford Bus Company service X15, operating on a broadly hourly frequency on Mondays to Saturdays. Beyond Abingdon, the service continues to Oxford via Dunmore Road and Hinksey Hill, replacing some service X1 journeys on this route.

This allows direct journeys to Oxford from Ducklington, Standlake and Millets Farm, and more than doubles the current service level between Witney, Southmoor and Abingdon.

Pulhams service 19 will be increased to operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays, providing improved service levels to Alvescot, Black Bourton, Clanfield, Bampton and Aston. On schooldays, one journey in each direction will serve Henry Box School.
The service between Standlake, Ducklington and Witney will therefore be up to every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays between the two services X15 and 19.
Pulhams service X9 will now operate additionally on Sundays and public holidays, with five return journeys available between Witney and Chipping Norton via Hailey, Finstock, Charlbury and Chadlington.

These services continue to be part of the national bus fare cap scheme, with single journeys capped at a maximum of £2.00 until 31 December 2024. MyBus countywide day and weekly tickets are also available, further details here: Find out about MyBus Oxfordshire tickets.
The improvements are possible due to proactive work by the bus operator, supplemented with a modest increase in Section 106 developer funding from Oxfordshire County Council. Services X15 and 19 are on a two-year contract, and service X9 is on a three-year contract, so we hope you will publicise these enhancements locally to ensure they can be made sustainable in the longer term.
